Welcome to my blog! I will do reviews, hauls etc on all things beauty, make up and skincare! Let’s kick things off with an entirely new product category for me – peel off face masks. I’m no stranger to a normal face intact I’m slightly addicted to buying and trying different face masks! But I have never done the peel off thang because honestly I had seen home HORROR videos and stories on Instagram and I was just like NOPE not for me. Until today apparently. The mask I went for was the “MasqueBAR collagen peel off modelling mask” They have a bunch of other types in the range but I went for this one because I like the idea of extra collagen in my skin!
It comes in a little clear pot with a lid and foil seal so all very hygienic! The pot claims the following “With collagen to moisturise and increase elasticity. Helps to purify skin by gently lifting away impurities and dead skin cells.
DIY rubber masks, or ‘Modelling Masks’ as they are known, are the latest trend fresh from the Korean beauty shores. These powder pots, when mixed up with water, transform into a thick consistency. When applied to the face the mixture hardens into a ‘rubbery’ sheet which stops the beneficial ingredients from evaporating and is easy to remove by peeling off in one swift movement.
Inside the pot is the spoon to mix and what looks like a simple white powder. You add 7 spoonfuls of water to make a thick consistency I added more because mine wasn’t mixing well and it was SO THICK and there was more powder that still needed mixed in). The wet consistency was like really thick porridge it wasn’t the nicest. But anyway I slatehered a thick layer on and left for 20 mins. Then came the fun part – peeling it off! It was completely painless! It didn’t all come off it one go because 1 I am an amateur face peeler 2 I didn’t get the same thickness all over so some areas came off easily others didn’t. Afterwards my skin did look nice there was no redness (I normally get some redness with masks as my skin goes red when anything touches it) and I did look rather glowing! I would probably try some of the others in the range as I liked the concept however I had SO much product left over so will probably only do these when I’m with a friend as it’s a bit of a waste (what remains in the pot completely dries up so there is no way to re-use later). I got these for £4.99 in boots so not the best budget option for a single use product but still nice for a treat!
